both attended Loyola Maymount University where Glen went into
film studies. He went from 21 Jump Street on to the X-Files as writer and producer, then to
Space: Above And Beyond, then back to The X-Files and finally
to MillenniuM.
He has two children and is married to actress Kristen Cloke since May 1998. James Wong Also attending Loyola Maymont University
where he studied engineering until he realized that Glen got
all the fun and changed his majors to film making, too. Morgan
and Wong only started their liaison travail after they
had left university and they have teamed up on innumerous
pilots and series: The
X-Files, Millenium,
The Fantastic Voyage, The Wonder Cabinet and Space: Above And
Beyond.
Jim, as he is fondly called by friends, is currently inmidst the post-production of his first movie - Flight 180 (on release as Final Destination in March 17th 2000). He is married to Teena and has three children. What is so little known is that while working for The X-Files Morgan and Wong have invented many characters we now all love, e.g. FBI Director Skinner and The Lone GunMen. Moreover, he and Glen Morgan created some of the most chilling and ripping episodes in season 4 and gave more depth to Scully and Mulder. Area 51 He created the stunning XFs of S:AAB and
is co-member of Area51. He is visual effects supervisor and
described the crew of Area 51 as a multi-tasking unit working
to create high-end effects for shows that include The
X-Files, Millenium,
Dark Skies and Buffy the
Vampire Slayer.
"We were definitely very lucky working on Space: Above and Beyond, and we'd love to do a movie, but I think somebody just did and called it Starship Troopers."
Tim McHugh He was Space: Above and Beyond's visual
effects producer (and co-producer), he runs the company AREA51
Inc. together with Glenn Campbell and an experienced team of
effects professionals and computer animators.
He confessed in an interview that he was awed when his CGI graphics came to life in form of walk through props where you could take a tour from pit to tail through an ISSCV. Tim McHugh on special effects: "It was a constant, ongoing process where Jim and Glen would send me a script and I'd look at it and start laughing and call them back and say, 'You're crazy, we can't possibly do this.' They'd cut two shots out and then we'd do it, and we'd add five more." Scott Wheeler Being part of the Area51 Inc. crew, he
is one of the computer animators. He modelled and textured
many of the Chig ship designs. His trademark in the business
as well as in S:AAB is Lana, the name of his wife. It's
often hidden among the engine details of craft like the
ISSAPC. Those whimsical trademarks and scribbles, called
'nernies' in the effects business, serve to break up
otherwise plain ship models. Mrs Wheeler also appears aboard
the freighter MacArthur in the episode Mutiny, where her
birthday forms the ship's registration number.
Geoffrey Mandel He designed the stunning logos, colour
schemes and graphic props, e.g. the GI-Geeked comic cover in
And If They Lay Us Down To
Rest.
He also did wonderful designs for the CGIs where he provided the colour schemes and texture of the later made CGI FX. Bear Burge He constructed Space's props and also
worked on "Star Trek," "Babylon 5" and "SeaQuest".
